J Kyle Manzay is an acclaimed actor, writer, director, and entrepreneur, Manzay received his BFA from Howard University, and an MFA at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. In 1997, Manzay founded Korner Entertainment, which produced the Second Annual New Playwrights Festival at the prestigious Dallas Theater Center, as well as writing and producing the developmental productions of Men, Money, and Gold Diggers; starring Robin Givens and Tank, and Whatever She Wants; starring Vivica Fox and Boris Kodjoe, and the Off-Broadway hit comedy The Actor’s Rap; starring Vanessa Simmons.
In 2004, Mr. Manzay received the Obie Award for Outstanding Performance and was a four-time AUDELCO nominee; most notably for his work in the post-Katrina inspired Waiting for Godot opposite Wendell Pierce. As an accomplished Shakespearean actor, Mr. Manzay has starred in Romeo and Juliet, King Lear, and played the title role in the Classical Theatre of Harlem’s critically acclaimed Hamlet. His film work includes Little Manhattan, Brother to Brother, Single Hills, and the box office smash hit American Gangster opposite Denzel Washington.
Manzay expanded Korner’s focus to support theater and animation and developed The Oobbi Bobbi Morphin’ Heroes and It’s All Elementary; a finalist in the 2010 New York Television Festival, the Off-Broadway production The Great MacDaddy, starring Khalil Kain, and feature films Highly Favored and Carter Cowboys.
In 2013, Korner Entertainment partnered with Sony Entertainment to write, produce, and direct Sony Recording Artist Jim Jones’ album Prey IV Reign into a musical production entitled Hip-Hop Monologues: Inside the Life and Mind of Jim Jones. The production received worldwide acclaim and paved the way for Broadway’s album adaptation like American Idiot.
A consummate professional, serial entrepreneur and a bona fide creative visionary, Manzay once again expanded his focus and reach to mentor, develop and fund other creative industry projects. Manzay teamed up with Chef Daniel Saunders and Tommy Popps to help create a new culinary empire. Their first major project, Nonna, which is set to open in 2020, is a platform to promote togetherness and inclusive diversity through food.
Manzay is well-versed in media, as he has been a guest Mr. Manzay has been a guest on “Good Day New York” , “Hot 97 Morning Show” , “The Wendy Williams Show” and featured in the New Yorker Magazine, New York Times, and XXL Magazine.

HIP HOP MONOLOGUES: INSIDE THE LIFE & MIND OF JIM JONES is a musical theatrical experience using the music from the new Jim Jones album as platform. Accompanied by a live band and an ensemble of professional actors, who will portray various characters from Jim’s past, Jim Jones will perform his new songs in the context of a scripted story. It will ultimately revolutionize the album release experience and is sure to be the industry standard for years to come.
FOR VIXENS WHO'VE CONSIDERED HOMICIDE WHEN THE VIDEO WAS TOO MUCH is a satirical musical that uses live music, multimedia, dance, satirical scenes and song to explore the glamour, turmoil, and sexual exploitation that dominates the world of music industry. The story centers around, Lil’ Bit, an aspiring video vixen who wants nothing more than to escape her drab existence with her overly religious single father and become the biggest star the industry has seen. This is juxtaposed to the story of Monica Forte, a legendary but now washed up Video Vixen, who searches for life outside of the vixen world only to discover that her biggest success is now her biggest hurdle. In the end, a transformation is made when Lil Bit comes face to face with Monica Forte, her future self, who ultimately tries to save her from her mistakes. With the use of 8 women, 2 men and a live band this musical seduces and later confronts the audience with their perceptions of Video Vixens.
THE GREAT MACDADDY is a satirical play driven by a funky Music characterization that advances the story of a young, egotistical MacDaddy, the beneficiary of his father’s illegal booze fortune during Prohibition, who crosses the American landscape on an odyssey in search of Wine, the custodian of the formula for his father’s legacy. It is a Time-travel odyssey across the United States in the 20th Century that has the young, self-indulgent MacDaddy discovering a world of hostilities where he encounters many cautionary trials and tribulations until he discovers Wine among the ancestors in the South and becomes enlightened with a spiritual wisdom he must share with his people in the 21st Century.
